Empson, Martin: Land & labour
Land & Labour med undertitlen "Marxism, Ecology and Human History" av Martin Empson handlar om människan och vår relation med naturen från förhistorisk tid fram till idag. Fokus ligger på jordbrukets uppkomst och utveckling samt sociala relationer knutna till det. Lite klasskamp hittar också in i boken. På slutet hoppar han raskt fram till våra moderna miljöproblem med ett stort kapitel om den globala uppvärmningen. Boken lider lite av det breda ämnet och författarens marxism med stort m. Även om författaren tar upp många intressanta händelser och företeelser så sker det ständigt på en ganska ytlig nivå och med en förkärlek för att namedropa olika gubbar.
För den specialintresserade kan boken vara värd att läsa. Men kanske mest för att hämta referenser till kommande läsning.
